Fellow Labourers-

"It was only when they compared themselves to the others that they began to feel slighted."

Examine this sentence carefully; meditate upon it; cogitate and regurgitate it. Isn't this sentence screaming at us and asking why?

One of my wishes is that the Pentecostal Gospel Temple members attain the status of Q.C. and become so satisfied with who we are that others will want to imitate us.

As a school boy DJ, the saying was common 'we may be imitated but not duplicated.' As a people we need to raise our level of self esteem that we can walk with our heads high in our own distinctiveness.

Help needed……a true concept of self…

I remembered when we were exploring existentialism (which I think is an exploration of the concept of Being) earlier some complained that we were swimming too deep.

But it is this exploration of self (the inner man) which I think is needed…. Alas, I don’t hold out much hope for us. I guess I am feeling bit pessimistic today

  2. Bro. Kirk:

My comments about distinctiveness and beauty in a previous blog comment might be useful here. Pessimism is a very strong word, but I understand.

Except strong action is taken to arrest the decay, we will slip into an abyss of despair, where not even the Spirit of God can rescue (if this is possible).

I believe the time for action is NOW.
