What a week!

Team

God gave us a theme and every session from Monday to Sunday stuck to the theme. The theme was relevant and timely. When the theme was chosen I was not yet made the Pastor designate for the church. Have we noticed that the messages are dealing with repositioning, alignment, vision and a fearless onward march into the future?

To all of you I again say thanks for your yeoman contribution to the success of the convention. You prayed, you fasted, you gave, you supported.

As usual we will have a post mortem God's willing, but I would like us to have an evening out before we do this. You see I am from a culture where we work hard and we play hard. Let us continue to pray for our Bishop and for each other. Now that we have spent so much time together it's hard now for you to get rid of me, and don't even try changing your addresses.

The success of our church depends on all of us. You are all leaders and John C. Maxwell a guru on leadership said this "Leadership ability is always the lid on personal and organizational effectiveness. If the leadership is strong, the lid is high. But if it's not, then the organization is limited. That's why in times of trouble, organizations naturally look for new leadership. When the country is experiencing hard times, it elects a new president." This is all about the law of the lid." Leadership Ability Determines a Person's Level of Effectiveness."

Love and blessings,

EICPD

    Hi Citizens:

God has really been good to us. I am thankful for God's keeping power towards all of us
in our travel to and fro. I can remember on Saturday I had to drive down to Bog Walk to pick up pork for Sunday's dinner and with the help of God I was able to anticipate every bad driving that was encountered.

All week was without incident on the roads. That is much to be thankful for.

The day sessions attended were superb and I hope in our difficult times we do not forget that we have a present help to call upon and that is Jesus our Lord.

Hope to spend some quality time with my family and be back at work on Monday August 24, 2009.

We congratulate again our newest ELDER on the block.

    Greetings fellow citizens,

Good has been good to me and my soul has been truly blessed. I believe the theme for Convention 2009 was timely, as there are persons who are really concerned with the economy that we live in, the violence and so many negative happenings. But I thank God everyday that His grace was enough to save me, and my desire is to stay with Him to the end. I too had some fears, but the major ones were: fear of the sea, creepy crawling things, and dying while my children were still young and helpless. Thank God the children are grown up somewhat, and I have no need to take any boat rides. As to the creepy crawling things - God is my refuge - He gave me Bro. Crump.

To all of you: You have all been so wonderful to work with, and I learn from you.

Congratulations Elder Richie! God bless you.

I was happy that I decided against travelling overseas this year; I truly enjoyed the convention sessions, and was fortunate to be at most of them. Working with the team was truly a blessing, I like the team spirit we had and it really made my task easier.

To God be the glory for all He has done, I will not fear what man can do for God is my refuge!

God bless you everyone, let us continue to pray for each other.

    God Bless Pastor Designate Stewart:

I must say that, in the 10 years I have been @ 111, i.e. saved, this is the most enjoyable convention I have ever experienced.

The unity, the togetherness, the love that I felt was so real, I am still basking in the after-glow. I feel alive and full of hope, I feel renewed.

I am looking forward to the post-mortem and the evening out.

    God Bless you all.

    Great People:

Indeed it was a tremendous week of feasting and celebration. I thank God for the opportunity to serve, and with such a committed august team. My prayers are for us to maintain the blaze. Thanks for your wishes but I seek your prayer.

To our Chairman and Pastor Designate I see a touch of Obama in your leadership style Sir. I am forced to call you “Robama” (lol): your style is inclusive and progressive; every member of the team felt their contribution was important and indeed was I am eagerly looking forward to the “play”.

    Love all

While others are basking in the wealth of knowledge and blessings garnered at Convention, I can only listen and hope to get mine when I listen to the tapes. I was so near yet so far. But I am happy that everybody was fed and I am sure that we will see the 'change' and everyone will endeavour to do his or her part to move the work ahead and to foster the Quality Christians that Bishop is pointing us to and excellence in all areas of ministry that our PD is aiming.

I thank you all for allowing me to work with the team, very happy to have served. Together we can! Yes! We can! I sense that this is just the beginning of great things to come. I am suggesting that our PD through our Bishop starts the ball a-rolling for next year's convention as well as our upcoming Anniversary and Christmas Breakfast.

What about an Evangelist Crusade? I believe the revival has started and we must run with the torch.

Congrats! PD for a job well done. I am very hungry and looking forward to the fun, food, and....
