Daily Bread

Fellow Labourers-

Praying for our daily bread is not a cliché. This is a daily fact of life. Even when we have our daily bread we still pray for it because of uncertainty. The Jewish nation seems to do well in spite of what is going on around them. There could be many reasons for this, but I believe it is also how they approach they life.

I believe they start from a position of certainty. They start with a conviction that God is their father, and as such he is going to provide. They do not waste time trying to assure themselves that God is their father. For them this is a given. Knowing their father and his capabilities they then move about with confidence and a sure knowledge.

Today I want to assure us that our daily bread is already provided. That does not mean we must stop asking, but we must now know how to ask. But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Pax Vobiscum
